Soarion Debit Card holders will be receiving their new cards soon. Check out our FAQs below for everything you need to know about your new "Tap to Pay" card. 

 

 

New Debit Card FAQs

As part of our rebranding to Soarion Credit Union, we are reissuing debit cards to our members starting August 2024.

No. We are issuing new cards as a part of our name change from AFFCU to Soarion Credit Union.

We sent emails to all eligible members via the email address of record. We also announced it on social media and our website, soarion.org.

For your protection and per card regulations you will be required to submit a written, signed request for a new Soarion card.

Cards are being mailed in the months of August and September of 2024.

We are including the following changes:
  • The Soarion design
  • Tap to pay for speed and convenience
  • New debit card number
  • New expiration date
  • New CVV number (three digits on the back of the card)
  • New PIN (card must be activated with a new PIN number)

No. All AFFCU cards will be discontinued and updated with the new Soarion card.

Yes, all current debit cardholders will receive the new Soarion card.

No. All debit card numbers will change as part of the reissuance.

No. You can select your PIN at the same time you activate your card or by calling 866-985-2273.

The AFFCU card will be disabled approximately 45 days after we issue your Soarion card. Please be sure to activate your Soarion card as soon as you receive it.

Verify your card has been activated and a new PIN number has been selected. Call (866) 985-2273 to activate and PIN your card. If it is still not working contact the credit union for assistance, (210) 673-5610.

No. Your current card limits remain the same.

You will need to notify the merchant of your new card information.

The Digital Banking site will automatically remove disabled cards and will display the new Soarion card.

Since mobile wallet is a feature corresponding to a private device, the old AFFCU card will need to be manually removed from all mobile wallet devices and the new Soarion card will need to be added.

If you opened your account between April 2, 2024, and June 20, 2024, you will receive a new Soarion card.

The plastic card will have the new Soarion design and added “Tap to Pay” feature. The card will be a flat personalization, meaning it will not have any raised or embossed characters on the card.

"Tap to pay” is a contactless card that lets you tap or wave your card over the card reader – no dipping or swiping required.

Yes! Contactless payment technology is typically considered the safest since some of the methods thieves use to hack into your card become virtually impossible to facilitate.
