Our New Soarion Tap to Pay Credit Card is Here!

Soarion Credit Card holders will be receiving their new cards soon. Check out our FAQs below for everything you need to know about your new Tap to Pay card.

New Credit Card FAQs

As part of our rebranding to Soarion Credit Union, we are reissuing credit cards to our members starting July 2024. The new Soarion-branded cards will feature “Tap to Pay” for speed and convenience.

No. We are issuing new cards as a part of our name change from AFFCU to Soarion Credit Union.

We proactively emailed all eligible members via the email address of record. We have also announced this on social media and our Soarion website.

We are including the following changes:

No, all AFFCU cards will be discontinued and updated with the new Soarion card.

Yes. To ensure we have the correct address and phone number on file, please update your contact information through online banking or by contacting the credit union.

For your protection and per card regulations, you will be required to submit a written, signed request for a new Soarion card.

Yes. All current credit card holders in good standing will receive a new Soarion card.

Cards are being mailed starting the last week of July 2024.

Yes. We will be issuing you the same card number with a new expiration date and three-digit code on the back of the card. You will need to activate this card.

The AFFCU card will be disabled on September 9, 2024.

If you have not received a new Soarion branded card before September 9, 2024, please contact the credit union.

Verify your card has been activated by calling 888-886-0083. If it is still not working, contact the credit union for assistance, (210) 673-5610.

No. Your current card limits are unchanged.

Yes. Your existing PIN number will remain the same. You can change your PIN at the same time you activate your card or by calling 866-886-0083.

You will need to notify the merchant of your new card information.

The online banking site will automatically remove disabled cards and will display the new Soarion card.

Since mobile wallet is a feature corresponding to a private device, the old AFFCU card will need to be manually removed from all mobile wallet devices and the new Soarion card will need to be added.

If you opened your account between April 2, 2024 and July 8, 2024, you will receive a new Soarion card.

The plastic card will have the new Soarion design and added “Tap to Pay” feature. The card will be a flat personalization, meaning it will not have any raised or embossed characters on the card.

“Tap to pay” is a contactless card that lets you tap or wave your card over the card reader – no dipping or swiping required.

Yes. Contactless payment technology is typically considered the safest since some of the methods thieves use to hack into your card become virtually impossible to facilitate.
